    Advanced Camp (suggested ages 11+)

    OVERVIEW

The Georgia Elite Advanced Camp incorporates world-class technique, intense drilling, and live wrestling for the more experienced wrestler looking to fine-tune his wrestling skills and add to his offensive attack.  Every aspect of our camp is organized and carefully detailed. Our technique and wrestling sessions include a planned sequence of instruction, unique drills, and review sessions. Campers will be shown new skills, be given the opportunity to execute them with high repetition, and expected to be able to demonstrate them effectively. Repetitive drill will be used to develop muscle memory and optimize retention.

Our instructors are among the best in the world and each of them know what is required to become a champion of the sport, as they have trained, competed, and coached at the highest level.

Each day will consist of two technique sessions and one live wrestling session in the evening. Each technique session is instructed by one or more lead clinicians while current college-level wrestlers assist by providing mat support, increasing the coach:athlete ratio and maximizing individual attention. Campers will be placed in situations and wrestle live at the end of each technique session. In the evening, campers will wrestle live against other campers of the same level of experience.

Our goal is for each camper to walk away with a clear understanding of the following:

    · The attitude and commitment it takes to excel at the sport of wrestling

    · Takedowns and set-ups that work at the highest level of competition

    · Counter attacks from the feet

    · How to always maintain good position on your feet and on the mat

    · Effective front headlocks and go-behind techniques from the short-offense position

    · Pinning combinations that will turn even the toughest opponents

    · Legs & tilts from the mat

    · The stand up and a series of reversals that enable continuous chain wrestling from bottom

    $285 - commuter

    $385 - camper staying overnight

    Beginner's Camp (suggested ages 5-14)

    Overview

The Georgia Elite Beginner’s Camp is designed for optimal learning and retention. Every aspect of our camp is organized and carefully detailed. Our technique and wrestling sessions include a planned sequence of instruction, unique drills, and review sessions. We pride ourselves on our ability to provide each camper with as much individualized attention as possible while using drill repetition and review sessions to optimize retention.  We will accomplish this by bringing ten of Georgia’s most respected high school coaches together to teach campers the basic skills necessary for early wrestling success.

Each technique session,  campers will spend their time with a different instructor, learning the techniques that have made them successful. No coach will teach more than ten kids at a time, maximizing individual attention, learning, and skill development for each camper. Each session will conclude with a 15 minute review session in which athletes drill the techniques they have been taught with high repetition, developing muscle memory and ensuring retention. We recommend that campers bring a notebook to write down the steps of each technique they are taught immediately after each session concludes.

Each evening, campers will conclude their day with live wrestling, where they are paired with other campers of similar age, weight, and experience level and asked to put into action what they have been taught throughout the day. Our instructors will oversee the live wrestling and provide feedback to campers as they come off the mat.

Our instructors are selected based not only on their skill knowledge, but also on their unique ability to break down detailed instruction in a manner that will not teach over the heads of the beginning wrestler.

Our goal is for each camper to walk away with a clear understanding of the following:

    · The attitude and commitment it takes to excel at the sport of wrestling
