Kennolyn has been family owned and operated since 1946 and is dedicated to offering boys and girls the very best summer camp experience. Kennolyn's 300 acres of California Redwoods in the Santa Cruz Mountains overlooking Monterey Bay transports campers to another world when in fact they are only ninety miles away from San Francisco. Campers of all ages experience a sense of belonging, are given the chance to be independent, discover new skills, and meet wonderful friends and role models. Resident Camp
Grades 1-9
1 and 2 week sessions

Spending time away from home with friends and counselors while having fun and enjoying exciting activities is the essence of Resident Camp. Since 1946, we have welcomed children from all over the world to our beautiful site in the redwood forest of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Life at camp revolves around the cabin group. A counselor leads his or her campers in their daily routines, Family Hour, and in special trips and events. The friendships made in a campers' home away from home can last a lifetime.

Before the summer starts, campers choose from over 35 activities where instruction is available for all levels. In addition to the daily activities, campers enjoy Outpost (primitive camping in our own woods), campfires, and trips to the beach and to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Optional events are also offered such as the three-day backpacking and climbing trips.

Kennolyn has been family owned since 1946 on 300 acres of redwoods overlooking Monterey Bay. Like all Kennolyn Camps, Day Camp is a traditional, structured camp program designed to cause emotional, social, and physical growth in each camper. The program offers over 40 hours a week of fun-filled group activities and exciting electives. Bus transportation from Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, and Monterey makes Day Camp a convenient option for working parents - our mature staff takes care of the child's business so parents can take care of their own. Our 1:4 counselor to camper ratio, on duty nurse, bus service, accredited program, and variety of activities make Kennolyn Day Camp the premium youth development partner in the region. Although the program cannot be compared to simple day care, tuition can be claimed as a day care tax deduction.

Our program revolves around the Family Group. Campers are assigned to these age group families and enjoy a full day of activities Monday through Thursday. On Fridays they have Free Choice activities and a fun event with the entire camp. During the rest of the week, campers come together daily for Closing Circle skits, songs, and announcements. Parents are invited to see their camper in action on Parent Night, where we offer activities, a BBQ, and a chance to visit with our counselors. Two-week campers grades 2+ enjoy extending their experience once a session on the Outpost Overnight. The memories had and lessons learned while camping out on our private 300-acre property, cooking dinner over an open fire, and sleeping comfortably in the outdoors are priceless.
