MundoLengua organizes Spanish language and culture immersion
programs in Seville and Cadiz, Spain, with an emphasis on middle and
high school students. We offer reduced classes (8 to 12 students) with
young, native professors. Classes follow a communicative approach and
focus on encouraging students to actively use the language in real-life
situations. Students can expect to significantly improve their Spanish
communication skills with the program. Students also study Spanish
culture and lifestyles which often includes on-site field trips led by
professors into the streets and markets, or out to local exhibitions of
art, music, and literary readings.
In the afternoon, students have the opportunity to participate in
cultural/social/sports activities with other international students.
These activities might include: flamenco/salsa lessons, cooking
classes, film festivals, visits to monuments, conversational exchanges
with Spanish students, invited guest speakers, special interest clubs
(running, yoga, belly dance), dinners, night beach parties, beach
soccer, etc. On weekends, we organize trips to other cities in the
south of Spain, allowing students to see the most important areas of
southern Spain and to travel.
Students live in carefully selected Spanish host families where they
enjoy full room and board and weekly laundry service. We interview
family members and inspect each home before placing students. Each
student is also able to count on the daily support of our housing
coordinator to resolve any doubts.
In addition to the general program offered in both Seville and
Cadiz, MundoLengua offers a unique AP prep Spanish Language and
Literature course for those students who are interested in attaining
advance preparation for the AP course and exam. All professors are
College Board trained. The AP program takes place in June and July in
Seville.
Seville offers itself as the ideal city for students who seek the
cultural and recreational offerings of a larger city, without the feel
of being in an impersonal and overly spread-out city. Seville is also
one of Spain´s most important and beautiful cities. Cadiz, the oldest
city in western Europe, is an authentic and relaxed Spanish city by the
sea, offering itself as the perfect destination for students wishing to
combine a vacation experience with the learning of the Spanish language.
